Mr. Dillon has more than 30 years' experience as a trial lawyer. He began his career as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, where he handled criminal and civil litgation for approximately seven years. He entered private practice in 1981 and was a partner in one of Michigan's largest law firms for 14 years before leaving to form Myers Nelson Dillon & Shierk in 1999.
Mr. Dillon is experienced in a wide range of complex commercial disputes and white collar criminal matters, including the defense of class actions involving the Truth in Lending Act and the Mcihigan Consumer Protection Act and the representation of clients in grand jury investigations and Qui Tam litigation. He has conducted internal corporate investigations for government contractors and participated in the establishment of an Ethics and Compliance Program. Mr. Dillon has represented lenders in the enforcement of mortgages and other security agreements and reimbursement claims with respect to letters of credit, and in lawsuits with other lenders involving priority disputes, loan participation agreements and claims of equitable subordination.
Mr. Dillon has served as a faculty member of the Hillman Advocacy Program, a trial skills workshop sponsored by the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
